We hold a deep conviction that we are a community of faith always on a
journey – a Provisional Community – unlike the world who want to give you
the impression that they have ‘arrived’! ‘It is a beautiful thing that the
Church should exalt in its conviction that we are a community that never
arrives. At the end of our brief span on earth the Christian comes to realise
that he/she has just begun. The whole Judeo-Christian story is a travellers’
tale. Moreover, it is a cautionary tale which warns that coming to a halt,
settling down and building bigger barns is usually a sign that decline and
fall is imminent’.
